Makes plans now to join the fun at the Parkview Huntington Family YMCA parking lot on Thursday, July 4 beginning at 6 p.m., prior to the City of Huntington fireworks by American Legion Post 85. There will be food for purchase from food trucks including JB’s Cuisine Machine, KONA Ice and Travelin’ Toms Coffee (featuring both hot and cold drinks) and food booths of Sugar Creek Donuts and the YMCA staff.

On the Novae Stage which will be situated near the Y entrance there will be entertainment for attendees to enjoy including an area for the Huntington North High School group, Decent Peoples Band; area comedian, Jesse Eisenhour; excerpts from the upcoming Seussical the Musical by the Huntington Theater Guild, Act II; the “headliner” band, Rock of Elders (sponsored by the Mayor’s Advisory Council on Community Accessibility and Mayor’s Advisory Council on Environment Stewardship). Lastly, Huntington resident Matthew Blomeke will sing the National Anthem just before the fireworks begin at dusk.

Other activities include the HNHS Boys Cross Country team hosting a cornhole tournament starting at 6:30 p.m. Interested teams of two should report (prior to 6:30 p.m.) near the front entrance of the Y to play. A $20 per team cash entry fee is required and cash prizes will be awarded for the top three teams.

The YMCA facility will be closed on July 4 and there will be portable restrooms located within the parking lot, provided by the City of Huntington.
