The Huntington County Chamber of Commerce sends our congratulations to the Parkview Huntington Family YMCA on their new outdoor space to include a new playground, basketball court, pickleball court, sidewalks, bleachers, turf, pavilion and more. The area was officially opened on Saturday, October 21 with a ribbon cutting by the Chamber.

Parkview Huntington Family YMCA has officially opened their outdoor courts and space for their members’ use. Over the course of the past several months, the Y has upgraded their outdoor space to now include basketball and pickleball courts (including SnapSports athletic play surface), outdoor pavilion, new fencing, additional sidewalks, updates to playground equipment, ADA-accessible synthetic turf and picnic table, outdoor bleachers, outdoor court lighting, picnic tables and security cameras.

Todd Latta, CEO of the YMCA stated, “We are often at full-use of our current indoor spaces and our board felt the community could benefit from this additional outdoor space improvement. Pickleball is America’s fastest growing sport and our community has a large group of pickleball enthusiasts. Additionally, our day camp, preschool and middle school students will benefit from the shade of the pavilion as well as the upgrades in additional activities offered. We are excited to see the use of this outdoor space and equipment for years to come.”

The leadership of the YMCA would like to thank the following sponsors for helping bring this vision to fruition. Thank you goes to Mueller-Scherger Foundation, English, Bonter, Mitchell Foundation, Flora Dale Krous Foundation, Community Foundation of Huntington County and Huntington County Help.
